In the late 1980s, Dick left Penn Mutual and established his own firm. There, he utilized products of all the major insurance companies, rather than being a captive agent of just one.
In 1998, Dick became a founding partner of Highland Capital, a large brokerage general agency providing banks, money managers, and wire houses with insurance products.
